Some cars (mainly Honda for instance) have a single bolt that holds the disc tight. 99% of my other cars have all had a free floating disc. as @Scott52 has called out, the wheel holds the disc tight.

it's the radio itself. If you still get sound from CD but not radio, it means something inside the headunit to do with the tuner is broken. Never seen that stereo before, does it have a factory reset option? if so, try that first
