I had the exact same problem with a wet passenger floor. I used a piece of flex conduit and routed it away using the old grommet. PROBLEM SOLVED

These are great bash plates, I was 'persuaded' by opposite lock that EDS plates where better than these and due to lack of display photo's on both IM and EDS I went on their word.. EDS do not cover near as much of the underside as IM plates.
